New to TBCC?
What to expectIf you are planning a visit or are new to TBCC below you will find some basic information. It should get you started but if you find you want more, please see our Frequently Asked Questions section.
Q: What time is your Sunday service?
The Sunday morning Family Service starts at 10am. We know it can be a struggle to wrangle children or juggle weekend commitments, people come at all times of the morning. Some have been known to turn up at morning tea time. Don’t worry if you show up a little later, you’re very welcome.
Q: Is there anything for children?
Yes. The first half hour of the Sunday morning is spent together in the main auditorium. The service leader will announce when the children will head out to classes in the back hall and adjoining rooms. The kids have morning tea before heading to their classes. Classes are roughly divided up into the following age groups: 3-4yrs, 5-7yrs, 8-10yrs, 11-12yrs (Intermediate), 13+ (College). Classes follow the school calendar although during the summer and holiday breaks there is often some activity run out the back still.
Q: Is there parking available?
Yes. There is a car park out the back of the church, but there is also ample street parking.
Q: What should I wear?
There is no dress code, just wear what you are comfortable in. Most people come in tidy casual clothes, but others like to keep it more formal. It’s up to you.
Q: Are you going to ask me for money?
No. We believe that money is given out of genuine desire, and not out of obligation. Unless we are collecting for a particular cause on a Sunday morning (almost entirely for overseas mission projects), most of the giving is done privately. You shouldn’t feel any pressure or obligation to contribute financially. If a request is made during the service the intention is to address TBCC members who want to contribute, not visitors.
