Frequently Asked Questions

Visiting for the first time?

What time does church start?

Our Sunday morning Family Service starts at 10am.

Where do I find TBCC?

The church building is located at 25 Mana Ave, Titahi Bay, Porirua. You can see a map and more on our Contact page.

Do you have parking available?

Yes, there is plenty of parking. We have a parking area out the back and there is ample street parking freely available also. There is a parking space for those who have difficulty walking close to the ramps leading inside the church.

What should I wear?

Please wear what you feel comfortable wearing, TBCC doesn’t have a dress code. Some folk like to dress up more than others. If there was an overall term it might be ‘tidy casual’, but we’re more interested in meeting you than in your dress sense.

Children’s Ministry

Is there anything for children?

Yes. Children are welcome in the Family Service and when the sermon time is about to begin their classes run out the back. We have classes ranging across preschool through to college. There is a room off the main auditorium where crying littlies can be comforted.

During the term time, we run frequent activities around the weekends for intermediate and college kids. You can keep up to date by visiting the TBCC Youth Facebook Page.

Church Leadership & Affiliation

Is TBCC part of a denomination?

Every church has a starting point, TBCC is an independent church, but historically we’re associated with the Christian (Open) Brethren denomination. We would sit in the Protestant evangelical category if you were trying to find some way to classify us.

Who is the pastor?
Pastor Max Faletutulu

Pastor Max Faletutulu

In 2017, the church appointed Max Faletutulu as our full-time Community Pastor/Ministry Leader. Max and Sarona and family moved into the church house on Kapiti Cres.

What is the leadership structure of the church?

TBCC is led by a group of elders, and assisted by staff, Ministry Groups and other leaders. Elders provide the spiritual leadership of the church and are appointed, subject to the approval of the church, for a term of 5 years at which time they step down, but may be re-appointed. Eldership is open to men and women.

Do you work with any other churches?

We acknowledge that we are a small part of the global church of those who believe in Jesus. Locally, the church is a member of the Porirua City Community Churches, (PC3) which includes The Anchor Community Church and Porirua Gospel Chapel. TBCC also pursues active cooperation with other churches in Titahi Bay.
